Shall I compare you to a lump of clay?
There's more similarities than you'd think.
The earth heats up upon a summer's day,
And so do you, and then you need a drink.
From clay of course we can make useful things,
There are some subtle differences I guess,
Since nothing useful from you ever springs
And everything you touch becomes a mess.
So who's to say that clay is less worthwhile
Than people here upon this tender earth
A pretty sculpture sometimes makes us smile
Yet somehow in your presence there's no mirth.
So long as you can breathe, then know and see,
That clay is far more valuable than thee.
