No resting on no laurels here for me
Another day, another sonnet comes
Just fourteen lines for all the world to see
Thrown up into the wind like falling crumbs.
So that's the first four lines I've set the scene,
And now I build on that with four lines more
All filled with love and peace, or venting spleen,
The workings of a modern sonnet whore.
So four more lines to go and then the end
And then another when today is done,
As if I had something I should defend
And wasn't only doing this for fun.
Sometimes I think it's just these lines that show,
These days so quickly come and quickly go.
